Marine Air's chilled water air conditioning systems consist of the chiller, located in the engine room, that cools (or heats) fresh water, then pumps it through an insulated piping loop to air handlers located in the living spaces, where the air is cooled (or heated).

Chilled water A/C systems are ideal for boats over 24 meters (80 feet). The advantages of a chilled water A/C system are:
  • No limitation on the number of air handlers in a system, or on the distance from the chiller to the air handlers.
  • Flexible load management.
  • Often a reduced peak electrical load.

MTS 25-Ton Modular Chillers

For Large Vessels & Super Yachts

The MTS is a high-capacity modular chiller unit for large pleasure yachts and commercial vessels. Optional electric heaters can provide air conditioned comfort onboard year round.

Each module contains a hermetic scroll compressor and shell-and-tube marine-grade condenser, along with other mechanical and electrical components on a single chassis. Multiple modules can be staged as needed to meet the required load.

CHCG Series Compact Modular Chillers

Compact Module In An Enclosed Design

Dometic MCGX modular chillers use titanium condensers to greatly increase durability and product lifespan. Titanium is unaffected by the punishing combination of saltwater, invasive marine life, and the harsh acids used for routine cleaning of the condenser coil. SCW Staged Multi-Ton Chillers

Up to Six Stages for Maximum Capacity

Staged Chilled Water (SCW) chillers are available in capacities ranging from 48,000 (4 ton) to 1,080,000 (90 ton) BTU/hr. SCWs are available in single- or three-phase, 50Hz or 60Hz, and all standard voltages (208, 230, 380, 460 VAC). Multiple compressors and refrigerant circuits are incorporated to provide minimal power consumption versus load demands, as well as redundancy throughout the system. Each condensing unit is monitored and protected with freeze controls, high-limit switches, high and low aquastats, times, and onboard fuses or breakers.

MCG Modular Chiller

Modular Chilled Water Air Conditioning
Marine Air's Modular Chilled Water (MCG) units are available in capacities ranging from 24,000 (2 ton) to 180,000 (15 ton) BTU/hr. Featuring a compact base design, MCG modules can be staged to provide a larger system which is easily retrofitted and serviced in the field. Up to six 15-ton stages can be configured for a system total of 1,080,000 BTU/hr., or 90 tons.

  • Small footprint allows installation flexibility.
  • Corrosion-resistant, durable, lightweight aluminum construction.

AT-DC Air Handler
AT-DC Air Handler
This new air handler eliminates "motor hum" which occur from traditional air conditioning blowers at very low speeds. Incoming alternating current is converted to drive a high-efficiency, brushless DC fan motor. Chilled Water

Our customized chilled water air conditioning systems are often the ideal solution for larger yachts from 70 feet to over 200 feet. Our engineers work with the vessel's designers to plan the entire system including Chiller® placement, heating options, air handlers and fresh air make-up. The Chiller itself features multiple compressors and refrigerant circuits for maximum power, efficiency and virtually failproof operation. The environmental control unit provides one-touch setting of fan speed and cabin temperature as well as easy creation of comfort zones.

Chiller Compact
Chiller Compact Marine Air's revolutionary new Chiller Compact system was introduced in 1999 as an alternative to split-gas direct-expansion systems for boats in the 45-70 ft. range. Available in capacities ranging from 16,000 to 24,000 BTU, the Chiller Compact uses circulated water in a closed loop in place of copper refrigerant tubes. Chilled Water Systems:
